Latonia (Toni) Houston

Latonia (Toni) Houston

Founder/President

Latonia (Toni) Houston founded Mya’s Angels Foundation, a nonprofit and 501(c)3 organization, because she was front row and center in seeing her daughter’s mental health struggles. She watched all the potential, hopes, and dreams sucked out of her. As a mom, Toni never gave up on her daughter and prayed things would get better, but they did not. No matter how hopeful Toni was as a mom, Mya was constantly at war with her mind and could no longer fight her inner turmoil. She died by suicide on February 17, 2025, at the age of 24. Toni’s prior mental health experience was through a blog she created called hoperow.net in 2012 to chronicle Mya’s mental illness. Mya’s Angels Foundation gives help, hope, and resources to those struggling with mental illness and provides crisis help to those contemplating suicide.
